Land ho!
There are many things to do ashore in the Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas area. Local parks include the award winning St. Joseph Peninsular State Park, the George Core (Lighthouse) Park, Constitution Convention Museum State Park and Dead Lakes Park....all great for walking, exploring, learning, fishing, biking and picnicking.
Here's a link where you can learn more about area parks.
When coming here it's a good idea to bring or rent a bicycle so that the many bike trails can be enjoyed. Bicycling here is very diverse...from beaches to parks to roadways to downtown. Be sure to ride the 4.4 mile Port City Trail and the 8 mile Loggerhead Run Bike Path located on Cape San Blas which runs along the beach road. The trails are also good for walkers and hikers. Check out the Turtle Trail, too, and learn how to honor and conserve these magnificent creatures.
This link will help you find some great bike rides!
Enjoy some delicious dining and fun shopping in downtown Port St. Joe and be sure to include Reid Ave. You will surely find a treasure!

It's an easy drive over to nearby Apalachicola (Apalach to the locals!) for a fun-filled day of shopping, dining and exploring. There's enough great shops, restaurants and out door activities in Apalach to pique anyone's fancy! Check out one of our favorites, the Oyster City Brewing Company...pet friendly, but dogs must be on a leash.
